Our film has similarities with the Hollywood all time classic 'Scream (1)' both 'Scream'and 'deceased.com' are based around teenagers being hunted by a serial killer. Our plots are very similar you can see this looking at the 2 minute treatment for our film and a part of the script from 'Scream'
'deceased.com': A 17 year-old girl named Geneva gets a chain mail with a threat which needs to be passed on, because she deletes it she get murdered. Her best friend Nina knows the truth but no one would believe her, not even her close friend David. Nina is trying to persuade everyone that the chainmail, which is roaming the Internet, is true whilst she doesn’t know that the killer is targeting her…
'Scream': A teenage girl becomes the target of a killer who has stalked and killed one of her classmates.
Also in 'Scream' the main character Sidney who is being targeted by a serial killer is trying to convince her friends that she is being stalked by a dangerous man and she is not believed by her friends. In a similar way in 'deceased.com' the main character Nina is trying to convince her friends that the chainmail that's being passed on around the internet is true and that Geneva has been killed because of it but none of her friends would believe her.
